"If you look deep enough, you'll see music!" Thomas Carlyle

Somehow, somewhere

Someone’s dreams are pulverised

The suckling robbed of toothless smiles

Molested and badly brutalised

A pool of anguish in their eyes

So why do we howl about minor glitches

When a wound somewhere is too wide for stitches?

.

Somewhere, somehow

someone’s taking a last gulp of life

Misery vacuums an unborn, despised

Family planning mishaps, surmised

As tympanum echo with muted replies

So why do we pine over the price of oil

When a soul somewhere won’t even go a mile?

.

Somehow, somewhere

someone’s plunging to their demise

A livelihood ransacked by lies

Hearts ripped and discarded like old auto parts

Taste buds drool with bittersweet retorts

So why do we mope over an ingrate who left

When a home somewhere is ravaged by distress?

.

Somewhere, somehow, someone needs our help

So why should we become so obsessed with self?

A-silhouette-of-a-lady

Jabbing at the tattered page, frustrated at my lot

How the camaraderie once was tight

but now the beauty is forgot

and I assess my plight

Whoa, I assess my plight

Hissing at the circumstance, calculating loss

Of fragile poesies that would fade

as blotch of ink swept across

the memories we made

Aye, the memories we made

Sighing at dashing hopes, duty now has won

Obliged that we must sever ties

in homage to the beloved one

And I muffle my cries

Yea, I muffle my cries

Arioso

Resistance is futile
But she’s quite content
To be lured
and moored
by the brawn of tender-loving arms
Oh, to be espoused by his princely charm

Red-orange flames burn
From fervour in their hearts
With eyes closed
their smiles froze
Pores erect upon satin sun-kissed skin
as they revel in the melody of a cardiac din

Wine-tasting spree
As filled crystals clink
and raise
to praise
the powers that fused their will and voice
Then lips sync to relish their starter of choice

The true feast impends
When two lie in brazen ministry
To tease
and please
the appetence aroused with mutual stare
Now that they’re bound by striking solitaire

Arioso

Trickle, trickle down the pane

Somber nimbus weeping rain

Potent hypnosis as driblets sweep

Now there’s no need `to tally sheep

.

Fickle, fickle eyelids flutter

Muddy streams rush to the gutter

Scenes fill wells behind closed eyes

As bleak disperse in star-less skies

.

Fluent therapy lulling me

And I drift off to a virtual sea

Soon the thunderous fit subsides

Into unruffled dreams of evening tides

Arioso

Lighthearted petals, unfolding wide

Reveal filaments of innocent pride

While delicate fragrances sing

Smiles now bloom in Spring

.

The grace that falls from poufs of love

Makes stigma rear their heads above

To lavish praise and laud the King

For smiles now bloom in Spring

.

The gardener’s expert fingers

Apply quickening touch that lingers

Then extend his signet ring

That gleams as smiles that bloom in Spring

Verdure is restored

As love potion flows from sky

Tulips pucker up

****

Spring is in fanfare

Birds and trees are out at play

Children pout, indoors

*****

Rain pummel windows

Spring’s bully assaults the night

Bolts rip bleeding sky

****

Rafting down the stream

Still waters mirror sunlight

Therapy for miles

****

Summer seas invite

Tourists bask in paradise

Natives scoot for shade

****

Seasons come and go

Plants and animals know well

Mankind – still in awe

****

Limbs strip their raiment

Streets lay eager to receive

Winds are scandalous

11. Arya, Braj Mohan - Nature With Lovers III

If I could reach into the heavens to anchor the sun

Or go to the poles of the globe, I would run

To paint you a rainbow and sop up the rain

If it meant that I could efface all your pain

.

If I could walk on the ocean or withhold the mist

Or subdue storms and seize the wind in my fist

Then release it again when you can’t find the shade

If it meant that provisions for joy would be made

 .

If I could descend into the heart of the earth

And conquer the grave for all the hell that it’s worth

I’d give you forever sealed with a kiss

If it meant that we’d both have perpetual bliss

.

But since I can’t do any of these things, I just wish

That giggles and glee will still brim your dish

When  your table is set, you will bask in it all

And I’ll always be here for you when you call

She licked the brine from her lips

As she spilt the pain of her ordeal

Billows rolled in fury and empathy

As she held a gaze the numb could feel

 ~

She had been a rock since birth

But the ocean lapped against the edges

Until defenses crumbled slowly

Into sediments of self bound pledges

 ~

Currents of the mighty seas conglomerate

Sweeping o’er a path of retaliation

A thirsty barren soul inundated

In a refreshing mix of amity and elation

~

Brilliant blue waves rolled that fateful day

But with a sense of certainty

That she would gaze into his eyes

From then until eternity

Tranquility in tandem with my thoughts

As I waft into a realm unknown

Where a life convict assumes release

And a plebeian may don a crown

Gravity’s hold is feeble there

Flesh and spirit are much the same

A soul gallivants just anywhere

And no one even needs a plane

Things that life would never grant

Now a guerdon making views expand

So the undiscerning clearly sees

The Deity crafting life, firsthand

That realm in REM will always be

Concocting salve for tear-less eyes

And blistered aching nomads’ feet

Find solace till they greet sunrise
